Satin Scarves

Green Tie Gala — 2022

Client
Greenville Zoo

Role
Illustrator, Designer

I partnered with the Greenville Zoo Foundation and private donors to create a series of satin scarves for their 2022 Green Tie Gala.

All of these scarves were printed and produced by hand in North Carolina. These scarves will be sold at a silent auction with all proceeds going to benefit the Greenville Zoo and the necessary conservation work that they do.

All of the reference animals are actual animals at the Greenville Zoo. All of the floral accents throughout the illustrations are local to the Carolinas.

Process

Each piece was paired with a color palette inspired by the Greenville Zoo’s current work. Each animal was selected and then sketched out. From there, the florals were built around the subject to frame them.

From there, each illustration was used as a quadrant to create the larger piece. These pieces were then sent off to a printer local to the Carolinas where they were printed on satin.

After printing, each piece was sewn by a local tailor in order to create the final scarves. Each scarf measures at 35” x 35”.
